The Art Moderne Pen
The Art Moderne ( pronounced "moe DAIRN" ) style originated with the Bauhaus movement in Germany and was very popular in architecture, art and industrial design from the 1930's - 1950's. It was seen as a simpler, more streamlined design than Art Deco with less ornamentation. Buildings in this style are often low, due to the horizontal banding that is part of the design. In Ohio, examples include The Judicial Center in Columbus, and the Armco Resarch Building in Middletown. The streamlined locomotives from the 1940's are examples of Art Moderne, which is sometimes also called Streamline Moderne. Suggested Retail Price: Ninety Dollars |
